Hello everyone! It has been awhile but I thought that I'd send a quick update with some recent StereoForest episodes. I have been busy working on some certifications that will lead directly to new episodes of a new show! The show is called Wired Divergent, and is launching next month. More about that below! The Credibility Minute This is a limited series about performance and creating video or audio. Three new episodes to mention this round, although there are almost 50 new episodes of this show since the last message. The self-editing mindset kills your flow when recording covers why recording and editing are two separate cognitive modes and what happens when you try to do both at once. The "casino bar" analogy for community building borrows from improv's gift exchange concept to look at whether your content strategy is lopsided on the asking side. And How to "yes, and" yourself in solo podcasting gets into what happens when you treat your own thoughts as offers instead of mistakes. Your Improv Brain Your brain knows when you're lying to it: confidence in improv is the latest episode of Your Improv Brain, and part 2 of 4 on metacognition and improv. This ep applies Eileen Gu's evidence vs. affirmations distinction to improv confidence. As usual, the episode includes a partner exercise and a solo method for building your own evidence archive. This one also comes with a practice worksheet you can grab through the newsletter signup at ImprovUpdate.com. The first special extended episode is here. How well do you actually know your improv teammates is about neurodivergent inclusion in improv, specifically the offstage part that rarely gets talked about. I share what it feels like to carry the burden belief as an autistic improviser and where that shows up in team dynamics. There's a team inclusion exercise at the end you can try with your group. New Show: Wired Divergent Wired Divergent launches in April. It's a solo show about nervous system regulation for neurodivergent brains. Functional freeze, autistic burnout, sensory overload, ADHD paralysis, somatic tools that actually work when your brain is wired differently. Episodes will mix longer educational content with short, repeatable micro-rest sessions. The show page is live now if you want to read more about it. Take care! Jen. |
